Hand in WaterCompleted Date: 8/11/13

Medium: graphite

Description: As part of my AP summer work, I drew a sketch of a hand in water to study refraction and distortion. I used a bowl of water and the sunlight on my deck to take the photos and then tried to copy the depth and patterns of the water as best as possible. Unfortunately, the drawing didn’t turn out as realistic as I had wanted, but it still made an interesting design. Next time, I’ll try to use a little more subtle blending to differentiate between the objects and only use obvious contrast between the hand and water.
