Gardening makes me so happy. I absolutely love sitting outside in the dirt with a huge sunhat flopping over my head and my bright green gardening gloved hands pulling up weed after weed and tossing them in a little wooden bin. It’s so wonderful to watch a tiny little seed grow into a gorgeous, blossoming flower, and knowing that I actually helped its life along makes me so proud!
I’m not one for the pristine, neat-freak, expensive type of pre-planned landscaping, but wildflowers popping up year after year with natural-looking marigolds or dahlias in your garden is a whole other story. I love the cottages I see in small towns with cute little window boxes of flowers and front yards full of tons of blooming colors held in only by a white little picket fence. Wonderful!
This year is the third year that I’ve tried growing a few different flowers in my playroom converted into a greenhouse, but this fall, I’ll take it a step further and attempt to transfer the area by our woods into a wildflower garden. I’ve already chopped out a lot of major weeds on that land, and the next steps will be to break up the soil with an electric tiller that my dad got me and spread the mixture of seeds that I ordered online. I’m excited! Hopefully, everything will work out, and I’ll be able to post some updates throughout the process!
