Afternoon at the Lake

Completed Date: 4/17/15

Medium: Crayola crayons

Description: To celebrate spring and as extra credit for my Environmental Studies final for the semester, I decided to doodle a drawing of the lake. It’s been forever since I’ve done any artwork and without my usual materials, Crayola crayons on a piece of printer paper was the way to go. 🙂 It felt so good to scribble around and use all the different colors, and it was also a great reminder that drawing daily for an hour or two is such a great way to relax. This spring, I’ll be taking a drawing course outdoors, so I’m hoping jump right back into building my portfolio and posting up on the blog again.

Below is a photograph of Lake Robertson, where I’ve been for a picnic before and where I gained some inspiration.
