Medieval Bard

Completed Date: 9/24/13

Medium: acrylic

Description: This was a really cool assignment from a while ago where I chose a piece of art from before the Renaissance and changed the painting enough to make it my own using a style similar to the style of Warhol. (Other people chose Lichtenstein and Pollock.) It was fun to sketch out the design and paint using flatter values and brighter colors than usual. Surprisingly, it was hard enough for me to experiment with Warhol’s unusual, bold style, but next time I think I would go even farther with the style. For instance, below is a picture of my reference and an example of part of what I was going for with Warhol’s style.
