Coca cola still life

Completed Date: 9/15/14

Medium: Prismacolor

Description: I had never known really of Prismacolor before, so I drew this still life to practice with a medium that was new for me. I set up the Coke bottle and marbles on my desk in front of the window to get started and worked from real life. It was a challenge because I kept seeing different highlights and shadows, but it ended up working pretty well. It felt good to just set up, draw, and then finish a piece all in one sitting. I’ll have to try it again and keep using Prismacolor. Right now, I’m actually about to get started on a Concentration piece using Prismacolor on black paper. That’ll be coming soon. Also, here’s a Youtube video that inspired me:

The coke bottle turned out great – nice coloring and transparency, and reflections. You worked the shades/shadows very well too. This is a good one – shows well. Like the video post too!
