Portrait #2: Emotions

February 16, 2014 by mamie

Completed Date: 9/8/13

Medium: watercolor

Description: Here, I was continuing my self-portrait experimentation. Instead of just using the one copy of my contour portrait, I decided to draw multiple, overlapping copies of the sketch. Then, I thought I would go ahead and paint each face a different color, and it just ended up turning into a representation of various emotions. Happiness, Anger, Pain, Sorrow, Jealousy, Frustration, Love… it all just turns into a big whirl of craziness and life!

Real nice work Mamie, I see all these emotional stages in your portraits. Love how they were summarized in this collage of sorts – good representation of emotions.
