Portrait 1 Collage

Completed Date: 8/27/13

Medium: collage/magazine

Description: This piece is my first sketchbook piece based on my self-portrait drawing. The plan was to do several different portraits with the same layout/starting place but with different styles, themes, and mediums. I hadn’t done collage in a while, so I decided to try a sort of abstract, mosaic, ocean theme. It took a while to cut and glue, but it was a whole lot of fun!

I like it Mamie – awesome work. Real nice mix between cool and warms, with the shell being a nice accent!

Thanks! I was a little hesitant that the shells would pop out a little too much or look out of place, but I’m glad it works out.
