Well… I got my results back today, and I didn’t make it into the Governor’s Honors Program this summer for art. It would have been a great experience, but hey, now I get 4 more weeks of summer to enjoy! Also, I think I’m going to work hard to get a great summer job, instead, and continue working on other personal art projects! 🙂 Overall, I’m glad I went through the whole process, and I’ve feel like I’ve really grown after all the planning and interviews.

Success is great, but failures sometimes are also great because they make the successes sweeter when they happen. I’ve still got my whole life ahead with lots more opportunities! Here’s a poem by Emily Dickinson that I read the other day. Have a great weekend!

Success is counted sweetest
By those who ne’er succeed.
To comprehend a nectar
Requires sorest need.

Not one of all the purple host
Who took the flag to-day
Can tell the definition,
So clear, of victory!

As he, defeated, dying,
On whose forbidden ear
The distant strains of triumph
Burst agonized and clear!

                 ~Emily Dickinson
