Bananas Covered with Fabric

September 17, 2012 by mamie

Completed Date: 8/11/12

Medium: watercolor

Description: As a sketchbook project for my AP Art summer work, I wrapped some bananas with a piece of patterned fabric (one of my shirts) and painted this watercolor painting to practice creating the values of the folds in fabric. I have to admit that I chose a fairly simple fabric pattern because I had procrastinated a little too much with my summer work, but sometimes simple works fine. One thing that I probably should’ve done is focus a little more on the value in the background, but at least the plain background puts a little more emphasis on the bananas.

Another tough subject – not easy to do little checks, especially with WC. Congratulations ~
