Self Portrait in Ebony Pencil

September 6, 2012 by mamie

Completed Date: 5/7/12

Medium: ebony pencil

Description: As a project last year, all of the people in my class took pictures of each other  making funny or crazy faces or some sort of expression that reflected who they are. Then, we all drew ourselves, using our photographs as a reference. I chose a picture of myself gazing off into the distance in the middle of a little giggle partly because it was the best photo in the batch 🙂 and also because I feel like I’m thoughtful but want to have some fun with life, too! Here’s the photograph that I started with:Seeing all of our portraits hanging up for our critique was pretty cool! We could see our whole class staring back at us!
