Carnation Flower Abstraction

August 30, 2012 by mamie

Completed Date: 1/19/12

Medium: oil pastel

Description: For this project, Georgia O’Keeffe was my inspiration. I chose to draw a carnation with bright colors in order to bring about the feeling of warmth or fire in relation to the shapes of flowers, and the reason I chose this theme is because I extremely loved O’Keeffe’s  Red Canna. To me, flowers in art never grow old, and I loved using my favorite medium: oil pastels!
