Completed Date: 4/27/11

Medium: charcoal (grayscale of soft pastels)

Description: Here, I observed full-size “Skelly the Skeleton” hanging from the ceiling and then drew the pelvis and spine area from real life, trying to create the illusion of depth by using a range of values. I remember becoming frustrated with the chalky charcoal at the beginning of the project, but toward the end, I finally got pretty comfortable with it. Later, I would create another representation of the same skeleton using pen and ink.
