What a Wonderful World

Completed Date: 2010

Medium: found objects, hot glue, and acrylic paint

Description: This is another piece that I created with Howard Finster’s artwork as inspiration. This time, instead of using excerpts from a fairytale, I embellished the piece with lyrics to the song “What a Wonderful World.” It’s one of my all-time favorite songs, and to me, the words flow like poetry. Included in the found objects are some of the treasures that are worthless to the economic world, but they mean a lot to me. All these objects represent my favorite characteristics of the world. Also, the piece can also be thought of as a self portrait because the girl pictured is meant to represent me.
