Garden Portrait Collage

Completed Date: 2010

Medium: magazine articles, glue

Description: I made this when our theme in art class was Georgia history. There was a certain Georgian artist who did collages and was our inspiration, but I can’t remember his or her name anymore. The assignment was to choose a family memory, though, and to create a collage of it. I chose to highlight the memories of my family reunions at Calloway Gardens. My grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles would meet us there, and we’d have so much fun at the circus camp put on by Florida State college kids and roaming around in the huge vegetable garden. It was great!
